After 4 years of getting MYP education of the IB system – learning new things every day, doing researches every once in a while each year in every class, studying for exams, working in groups – the 5th year ends with an immense project that one chooses the subject he wants to research, work on along the year.
Each and every student is free to choose whatever he wants concerning the project, based on three conditions: the first is that his project has to have an objective, a solid base which he has to build it with his research and knowledge. Another thing is to have enough knowledge about the subject, rather than start from scratch. Last but not least, one’s project must be realizable, refer from unrealistic stuff or it could only be realized in an amount of time that passes the limit, due date.
In my case, I chose my project based on my experience in tennis, and who my coaches were training me. My project was to teach little kids aged between 7 and 8 years old how to practice this sport in a good way, because my trainers weren’t taking enough care of me. The truth is that for all my life, I was only attending the practice hours to be fit, and because my mother wants me to go, which is not how it’s supposed to be. Therefore, I decided to make the children the club puts in my possession for about 3 to 4 months to love the sport, and attend the practice hour just because they love the game.
In addition, my goal was to improve their technique in a young age hence not to be stuck with a bad one for the rest of their lives. Honestly, I belittled the time I had to improve those two girls, because personally, I was the one who was making them progress slowly.
During the past few months, I had to premeditate every single activity that was going to be used during practice time, taking consideration not to annoy the students, or to make them overwork. This was actually really hard to do, since I had to focus on my school work plus my personal project assignment. For the reason that it’s already hard to focus on a subject that wasn’t taught in the school week.
At the end of the period I was supposed to realize an event, which is supposed to be a tournament between my girls and the rest of the team. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, this wasn’t realizable. Instead, I had to do a test to assess their level. Surprisingly, my students remarkably blossomed in the past few months.
To conclude, all the students had to write a report explaining what happened during the last 9 months. To be honest, I think this was the hardest part of the project itself, because all the grades are based on that one report, not the whole period of time. To be Fair, I think it’s prosaic the whole point of the project, making someone work as hard as they can in something that would probably not benefit him in the future, then, all of that is thrown away, insignificant, unneeded, because all that’s needed is some orders to be written in an essay, which does not count all the efforts done if the creation has failed.
Here's some photos of my two students during practice time:

good friends

Over the course of our lives, we meet a huge number of people. Some of them are just contacts, others are considered as friend but few are seen as good friends. Considering that there aren’t any certain qualities associated with being a good friend, it’s different from one person to another; therefore, one can choose his good friends depending on specific terms.
            However, there are some broad qualities that apply to everyone that has the honor of being someone’s best friend. The first quality that one thinks about is supportive, which is a great quality but the truth is, best friends aren’t always supportive, on the contrary, most of them  they make fun of your little problems,  give you a hard time and even put you in trouble sometimes. That’s their role in a way. They are the people who make you realize that you shouldn’t fear your biggest problems because in fact they’re small and easily manageable, good friends motivate you to be a better person. Most importantly, those are the ones you make your stupidest decisions with, and go through crazy adventures that we will never regret or forget.
On the other hand, in those dire situations when a problem is actually threatening, a good friend is the first to be on your side to help you. That person is someone you can trust with your secrets and count on him to help you when you’re in a disadvantage. Friendship, like everything else, is not perfect, even best friends since childhood encounter huge problems and fight each other. Yet, in the end, they know that they’re always there for each other, no matter what happened.
Nevertheless, there are some qualities that shouldn’t be in a good friend, like: jealousy, lying and deceit; those are the things that break friendships forever.  Simply put, the quality of a good friend is just one basic thing: someone you know you can’t live without.

constitution: reflection

A constitution is like a document, which states the government’s rules and laws, the systems beliefs. That last part is like a code of justice
A constitution is practically the most important document in a country, state, and government, everywhere. This document is here to set the rules of one country, its laws, to keep the place safe without criminals, robbers, rapists, or whatever else criminal actions that could take place. This can also take place anywhere where it needs rules and order to follow, such as companies’ maybe.

Excavations in Iraq have found in 1877, what looks like a code of justice written for about more than 2300 BC. The constitution document itself wasn’t actually found, nevertheless, it is known that it allowed the citizens some rites. Later on, many governments ruled on written directions and guidelines. The oldest constitution known until now, with an actual proof, is the code of Ur-Nammu, in 2050 BC. This law code was written in Sumerian language circa 2100. The tablet was translated in 1952, and later on in 1965, to reveal 40 out of 57 laws in total. One of these laws urges that if a man killed another one, he must be killed in return. The same sanction in case of robbery. And so on with many other law exaggerations.

In my opinion, Egyptian government must write the country’s constitution first, so that the next president would know his duties and obligations, job description before being elected. Being a president is only a governmental job, which one must consider it’s not an endless job until he’s in his tomb. Therefore, the next president must be elected after the new constitution has been changed, improved, corrected.

my new year's resolution

                New Year’s resolution! It is something like a list of wishes and desires which a person wants to be. This is like an inspiration to almost everyone for the next year; therefore try to achieve these tasks, wishes, or whatever they are. One must practically do all these desires so that his purpose would be complete. It’s comparable to a to-do list mostly, with the difference that it’s for a whole year instead of a short amount of time.

            First of all, New Year’s resolution is supposed to be listed before the 31st of December, which means, on New Year’s Eve, when the countdown is over. In my opinion, I don’t believe in New Year’s resolution, because I think it’s prosaic. Taking consideration that after new year’s eve for about a couple of weeks, a person would try and follow his resolution, until he forgets about it and returns to his old self.

            In addition, most of these resolutions are based on “trying to be a better person” or “treat people in a better way”, maybe in some cases “stop being ego and self-centered and try to help others”… and so force. These wishes are the usual, common, natural habits one should have, not write it in an insignificant piece of paper that will vanish sooner or later. If necessary, a resolution must contain wishes like wanting to attend a specific college or university, hoping of achieving a particular position in work. New Year’s resolution is supposed to be a goal set to accomplish it.

            In my point of view, a person doesn’t need new year’s eve to write a resolution as to have a new objective by the New Year. One mustn’t wait for this one special day in the whole year to do that, thus consider what the wrong things he did to try and correct them, or even the write action he made and don’t stop doing them. However, this should be done on daily bases. Therefore, one must – every night – remember what happened that day, what are the moral moves he did, equally the corrupted or immoral things. Consequently, he would find out who hate him and who doesn’t, try to react better the next time. As a result, he would be the better person he always wanted to be.

            Just for the sake of it, I’ll write a new year’s resolution, which will probably stand for the next year, and couple of years afterwards:
1.             1 -  I wish to start treating people better even when angry or annoyed;
2.            2- Stop getting angry so fast;
3.           3 -Begin organizing my time and avoid doing anything on the last minute;
4.        4 - Show my love and respect to my parents, and be thankful that I am blessed with both of them alive;
5.         5 - Be independent and stop relying that much on my nuclear family to help me solve any insignificant problems;

To conclude, if someone really believes in writing a new year’s resolution, personally, is supposed to contain goals set for the next year, not some moral and personality traits that one wants to develop.

Globalization

Globalization is a form of cultural acceptance and approval, which surrounds economics, politics, biology and culture on a global scale. It is a process where dominant countries take the place of the less fortunate ones. Many people have different point of views concerning this debate, which will be discussed below. The different points of view of other people, my personal opinion, the advantages and disadvantages of this process, will be discussed further down.
To begin with, globalization, to some people’s opinion, is going to ruin the world. In other words, globalization is going to make a difference in the society, where some nations would rise and be known worldwide, with their dominant policy. Thus other nations nobody would ever know about, because it’s insignificance. Therefore, globalization to one point of view depends on disagreement, disproval of the system and the leading countries.
The other side of the story is other people’s opinion, which is “globalization will eventually lead to a utopian world society”[1]. They believe that because of globalization, the world will connect with everyone, anytime. Everyone will keep in touch with the latest news, and that everything is going to be fine. This side of the story, where one thinks that globalization is going to end racism for instance. Consequently, globalization to another’s belief is going to make the world a better place.
At the outset, globalization has some advantages that one could benefit from. Mainly, a corporation’s owner from a dominant country who decides to build his company in a developing country will be a worthy use of globalization. In addition, they would reduce labor cost and sometimes, be close to raw materials. There are also disadvantages regarding this topic.
Critics of multinational companies have accused the profitable corporations of the system, of “exploiting the less-stringent labor laws of developing nations”, that these companies use unfairly and unethically their works, harder than they should, without the correspondent recompense. Furthermore, these corporations have been accused of immoral environmental use, which concerns; some dangerously toxic waste materials, or dangerous waste materials in general. Moreover, the degradation of environment’s natural resources! Into the bargain, these corporations make it harder for other new, small businesses to compete. Therefore, globalization makes it harder in developing countries to develop.
Personally, this new cultural system, which results the domination of a number of nation in an economic, companionship way, will leave it harder to developing countries to try to rise up to the surface. Considering that already many other countries are allies with the dominant ones, and will need many generations to twist their thinking and lead them to follow other nations.

Globalization, in my point of view, causes a threat to some nations, and it also has more benefits to some other countries. First, this cultural system will create a social gap, and divide the world into two or maybe three groups: the dominant nations, the ones who are trying to develop but are stuck in the middle and can’t improve anymore, and finally, the countries that can’t develop because their natural resources or raw materials are limited. Therefore, only the dominant nations are the one who can enjoy and benefice from the new cultural system. Nonetheless, the rest of the world will live in a more misfortunate way, which is unlikely.

winter vacation

            Vacation is when a person takes a period of time off … without either work, or stress, the moment when one gets to relax and just have fun. A holiday has a different meaning from one another: there are the one who likes to just relax in their holiday, others who likes to go out and have fun. Well, mine was a combination of almost everything. It was from amusement, to relaxing, to studying a little.
            Personally, a vacation means when one takes a time out and just has fun and relaxes, somewhere new, I mean traveling some place other than the familiar places. The first week of my holiday, my cousin who lives in Germany came home in Egypt. It was so exciting to see him again considering I only meet him 3 times a year, barely. So in celebration of it, we decided to travel to a new place in Egypt, nearby the beach. There, what we all did the first day was sleeping. We either slept in our rooms, or on the beach with the cool air, and the crashing sound of the waves on the shore. Because when one gets to finally have their break from work or school, all he thinks of is how tired he is, and how much he missed sleeping.
            Then the next day, we all went out on the beach, playing, having fun, trying to forget school homework as well. There, we met many new people, very interesting as well. We spent the rest of the week with them, listening to their cool stories about places they visited in Europe or Asia. We also tried many activities as well as beach volley and soccer. for the first time of my life, i get to see a bird up close, and take a picture of it. It looked so peaceful and beautiful.  The best thing about the hotel we reserved in was the food.
            To be honest, I have a major problem when it gets to food because I just can’t stop myself from eating it. What makes matters worse is that they make food that makes you feel you never want to stop. So that is why my family planed something to get me to stop eating. Unfortunately it didn't always work, because the power of food is overwhelming.
            To conclude, my vacation was pretty exciting and relaxing the first week, I never wanted it to end, but everything in life has a beginning, and an end, and then the cycle begins all over again but with other story which takes place instead. All one person can do, is try to make the best of each event.
